Updated availability: Do you, or someone you know, need a committed, caring house and cat sitter?

Sheridan from Kohimarama

DURATION and AVAILABILITY

Sadly, my November booking can’t get away as planned so I'm now available for at least 2 weeks (ideally) between the following dates:

* 17 October to 6 December 2023
* 7 January 2024 to 10 April, 2024
* 20 April 2024 to 23 May, 2024
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you prefer the peace-of-mind of 'in-home' care, I can help with that.

I’m currently house and 4 x cat sitting in Kohimarama for the next 3 weeks and hoping to help another household late Oct/November with their beloved feline/s. If you don't have any pets but prefer your home looks lived-in, I can help with that too.

ABOUT ME
I’m nearing retirement and planning my VanLife adventures. I will soon buy and fit-out my own van before heading off to finish hiking the rest of the great walks and Bikepacking wherever. I currently work full time as a Documentation Specialist for a software company Monday to Friday in the Auckland CBD and ride to work most days. I do gardening, mow lawns, pull weeds, clean pools…whatever is required to keep your home looking ‘loved and lived in’.

SUBURBS
Any homes located in or on the fringes of these suburbs: St Heliers, Mission Bay, Orakei, Glendowie, Remuera, Meadowbank, Kohimarama, St Johns, Stonefields, Newmarket, Parnell, Ponsonby, Herne Bay, Pt Chev.

I would also be interested in suburbs around Epsom/Greenlane.

Happy to pay for water, gas, power and internet usage.
Please reply to this post or just send me a personal message via Messenger or Facebook - I'm very easy to find.

What workplace change would you like to see most?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

This coming Monday is Labour Day in New Zealand. This public holiday marks when the eight-hour workday and 48-hour workweek became law in 1899. The idea started with Samuel Parnell, a carpenter in Wellington, who in 1840 refused to work more than eight hours a day. Since skilled workers were in short supply, his employer had to agree.

As more skilled workers arrived, employers tried to change working conditions, but Parnell and others kept pushing for better rights. In 1890, Parnell led a Labour Day parade of 1,500 people to promote the eight-hour day. He passed away shortly after, and nine years later, Labour Day became an official public holiday.

Do you feel that we have reached the ideal in working environments yet? What rights are you passionate about relating to employment? Share your thoughts!
