Tawa Rotary Gigantic Book Fair update

Richard Herbert from Rotary Club of Tawa Inc.

The best Rotary book fair yet

Thank you, Tawa, for making the recent Gigantic Book Fair the most successful yet. When you bought your books you not only got a bargain, but you also made it possible for Tawa Rotary to continue to support a number of local community causes and international projects on Tawa’s behalf. These include Life Education Trust, which works in Tawa schools and is the major beneficiary; Foster Hope Wellington; Predator Free Tawa; youth programmes in Tawa schools; End Polio Now (and we’re nearly there); and the Rotary Foundation, one of the largest and most successful global humanitarian grant funds in the world.

So, when you next pick up that book to read, take a pat on the back.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
