This is a rare opportunity to visit these beautiful gardens of national significance. The magnificent house is set at the end of a tree-lined avenue, in acres of landscaped gardens. Wander your way through the Scented Walkway, the Oak Cathedral, passing the Sound Shell to the stunning lake area which played a starring role as Lothlorien in Peter Jackson’s first Lord of Rings film. The gardens have been developed over the years in an English Arts and Crafts style, with the touches of European and Japanese water gardens and Australian and New Zealand natives interspersed. We have this great opportunity to help to establish a Toastmasters International Youth Leadership Programme in Wellington. The programme is suitable for youth between 11 and 17. If you are a parent who wants your kid(s) to have a head start and confidence in public speaking then this is a good opportunity to sign them up. We need at least 12 youth to start a course. The venue and frequency will be determined once we have the numbers. We also need your involvement in making this a possibility for our youth in this leadership programme. This is still in exploratory stage. So please be patient.
Private Message me with your name and email address if you are interested to be involved or signing up your kids, and I will send you the expression of interest form and more information when I get them from the Toastmasters Youth Leadership Advisor. They are eager to form the first Toastmasters Youth Charter in Wellington. The Charter will be adhere to the Toastmasters International established standards and guidelines.

The Early Bird special provides off-peak Snapper fares for Metlink bus services prior to 7am on working days. The Early Bird off-peak fare will be available for a trial period of four months from 10 February until 12 June 2020. Off-peak Snapper fares are 25% cheaper than normal Snapper fares.
The Early Bird special is an addition to existing off-peak fares, which already apply for Adult Snapper customers between 9am and 3pm and after 6.30pm on working days, and weekends.
What are we trying to achieve? We want to see if cheaper fares will encourage bus commuters to travel earlier in the day, when there is more capacity available on buses. Our ultimate aim is to spread demand over a wider period during the morning commute, and to relieve pressure on heavily used services in the peak period. That will lead to better services for all.

Every year Sustainability Trust get's a massive spike in orders right in the middle of winter.
As the curtains take up to 6 weeks to make, there are families spending most of the winter freezing while they wait for their curtains to arrive.
This year, they are asking for your help. If you know of community space (ie library, school, pre-school) where you could put up posters and/or place some order forms they would love to hear from you. Please email di@sustaintrust.org.nz
