Rare chance to see Fernside Garden - open to view at Tauherenikau
The spectacular and historic garden at Fernside, on SH2 near Featherston will be open on 15 & 16 February 2020 from 10am till 4pm. This is a rare opportunity to visit these beautiful gardens of national significance. The magnificent house is set at the end of a tree-lined avenue, in acres of landscaped gardens. Wander your way through the Scented Walkway, the Oak Cathedral, passing the Sound Shell to the stunning lake area which played a starring role as Lothlorien in Peter Jackson’s first Lord of Rings film. The gardens have been developed over the years in an English Arts and Crafts style, with the touches of European and Japanese water gardens and Australian and New Zealand natives interspersed. Tickets available at Eventfinder.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
