Recycling - soft plastic recycling in supermarkets Update # 1 - great news that the NZ based Future Posts company (processing old/used plastic bags / soft plastics) is expanding its soft plastic recycling scheme from Auckland and Hamilton (currently) to Wellington (October) through the Countdown and Warehouse supermarkets. Another (small but important) step in tidying up our environment. Naturally not using plastics is the first step, but a sustainable recycled end use of soft plastic is great news, and less waste passing through Brooklyn to the landfills... www.stuff.co.nz...

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
