What's going on?
Two things, one positive and one negative, seem to be on the increase at the moment. The positive one: there are so many blossoms this year. It makes everything look wonderful and I especially love the kowhai. The negative one: jumping red lights seem to be on the increase - for example traffic turning right off of Hutt Road onto Onslow Road, the lights along Lambton Quay and buses seem to be offenders as well as cars. And the other day I was nearly bowled at the corner of Molesworth and Lambton Quay even though Kate had given me the green light to cross.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
