Shop Local: $20,000 for a local business to be won!
Local businesses are vital to the recovery of our economy. They create jobs, they are generous sponsors of local events and charities. How can you help? One simple way. Stuff and 2degrees have launched a Shop Local campaign, which offers a prize of $20,000 towards marketing and advertising for one Tauranga business to help it stay on top of whatever challenges Covid-19 has thrown at them. A judging panel will decide on the winning businesses. There will also be a People’s Choice winner and that business will also receive a $20,000 marketing and advertising package. Voting for the People’s Choice will take place on Stuff in September. So encourage any business you love to enter now by going to 2degrees.nz/ShopLocal.
This is actually the second year this Shop Local campaign has run. 2degrees has been championing local businesses well before the current Covid crisis. 2degreesChief Business Officer Andrew Fairgray says they are behind Shop Local because: “We know local businesses are at the heart of where we live and give our community its distinctive spirit. This is a great opportunity for a local business to raise their profile and get some tangible help in $20,000 worth of marketing and advertising. It also gives us the opportunity to celebrate the positive, hardworking business and encourage the local community to shop locally,” he says.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
