New Rateable Valuations
The BOP Times lead article on Thurs claims "Property values leap 49%" Should have stated rateable valuations leap 49%.
Very misleading as selling values are still the same as the day before this ambiguous heading. Comparable recent sales over the last 6 mths are the best guideline, (as registered valuers use in their reports.)
Yes some homes will reach their new CV (rateable value) if selling but a high % will not.The main reason being there is no site inspection in the CV process - it is a mass computer average not allowing for the fact that each property is unique in its condition.
BOP Times very much in denial when I questioned their journalistic integrity over this article.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
