Support your college and see great play

Sharron Pardoe Reporter from Kapi-Mana News

Tawa College is taking on a timeless classic - Thornton Wilder's Our Town.
Written in the 1930s, and set in the early 20th Century, Tthe Pulitzer Prize-winning play has remained a mainstay of popular theatre, with a staggering 4000 productions world-wide in the last decade alone.
Here is what some of the cast have to say:
Nick Bryant: "This play has allowed us to explore the idea that life is very short lived. The little things we take for granted as we get older will not always be there. The cast is really fun and enjoyable to work around and with. It's been a great learning experience"
Helen Oliver: "The play makes you question how you are living and appreciate the small things in life."
Sophie Turley: "It really helps you to appreciate the small things you never really notice. It's a beautiful story that people can relate because it's about a regular girl and boy and day-to day life. I can relate to my character on many levels. Most of the cast can relate to their characters which makes for a compelling performance."
All the cast have been working hard not only on becoming "citizens of Grover's Corner" but creating and constructing the set.
* Our Town runs August 7, 8, 10 and 11, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Drummonds Pharmacy, Tawa, or the Tawa College office.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
