**Update 6pm, 7 December
Kia ora Ōtaki. Rain has been continuing in the northern part of our district and we’re expecting more rainfall tonight. We’re expecting the Waitohu Stream to be rising quickly.
We want to check everyone is ok and that you’re aware of the situation.
We’d like to remind you to keep away from the stream. It is dangerous as flood water undermines the banks and makes them unstable.
Farmers – please keep an eye on low-lying paddocks and move stock as required.
We’re continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates if the situation changes.
Look after each other!
If you fear for your personal safety please dial 111.
If you have non-urgent operational requests, please call us on 0800 486 486 or log it on Antenno. www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
