Hooked on adventure

Jean Sandel Retirement Village

Neil’s love for fishing stretches back as far as he can remember. From catching sprats on the farm as a young boy to representing New Zealand on the world stage, it’s always been his passion. These days, as a Bruce McLaren Village resident, Neil finds nothing more enjoyable than casting a line, surrounded by scenic vistas and the melodies of native birds, before releasing his catch back into the water.

An experienced fishing guide, Neil shares his love of fly fishing with his new mate and village neighbour, David. While they met in the village, the pair are often mistaken for lifelong friends. Like Neil, David has always been an active person.

PALM GROVE PROJECT

Don from Whalers Gate

We have finally got rid of all the agapanthas on our property.
What challenging time we had in developing our site for the palms.

Over 16 trailer loads of dirt removed, this was done by buckets and shovels.
Then the construction of a retaining wall and installing drainage behind the wall too.
A load of filling sand and install the weed matting and stones for ground cover.

Purchased the stones from Jones's Quarries in Madadon Street, Spotswood.
Purchased 3 concrete rings for $15 on Neighbourly.

Laying of two trailer load of stones with buckets and shovels.

We also purchased the Palm from shedoupalms@gmail.com, the price was eye watering. Tried to use my penisioner card for discount but no go.

My darling wife planted the palms.
Its is now all finished and now we are able to recover over Easter.

What do you think of our new PALM GROVE GARDEN.
