Daffodil Day activities

Meg Rodel from Cancer Society of NZ Taranaki Centre

The daffodil, symbol of, is an icon of hope, not just for people with cancer, but for the Cancer Society itself. The Cancer Society receives no government funding and therefore relies heavily on the public’s generosity.

Friday 31st August is Daffodil Day - the Cancer Society's annual fund-raising appeal and the majority of the money raised will be used to support families in our community who are affected by cancer - counselling, home visits, transport to medical appointments, various support groups, etc.

Over 650 people in Taranaki are diagnosed with cancer annually. Who will YOU wear your daffodil for?

Daffodil Duck Race – Sunday 26th August at 2pm down the Huatoki Stream. Ducks cost $100 each. Prizes to be won as well as spot prizes. For more details contact Melissa ph. 06 757 3006 or email melissa.callaghan@cancercd.org.nz

Cycle of Hope – Friday 31st August around the mountain. All cyclists are encouraged to participate, whether for the whole distance, relays, or whatever legs of the route are convenient. It’s not a race! For more information email Joel Dodd joel.dodd001@msd.govt.nz

ANZ is proud to be the principal sponsor of Daffodil Day - this year will be our 28th year supporting this cause!

We will be hosting a gala dinner and quiz followed by a live charity auction to be held at the Novotel on Friday 17th of August at 6pm. Tickets cost $100 p.p.

To purchase tickets please visit www.hobsonhotel.co.nz/events/anz-gala-dinner

With YOUR help we can make a difference in Taranaki.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
