What a lovely way to give back to the community :)
If they’re short of drivers Moana only has to ring me. We never say no – I don’t know the word.”
Soni and Winnie Rogan have been delivering Meals on Wheels in Auckland for nearly 15 years. The couple met in Wanganui more than 50 years ago, and after careers in construction and health care, decided to make use of their spare time by volunteering. They’ve been doing deliveries together ever since. Soni’s become a bit a legend of his run and has signature door knock so his recipients know exactly who’s there to meet them. Winnie says, “everybody knows him,” but the humble pair just see what they do as providing service, and really enjoy seeing the people and get some good laughs.
Legends like Soni and Winnie not only deliver a hot meal to thousands of Kiwis every day, but also provide a social connection for many people who might not otherwise see a smiling face at the door. Meals on Wheels is great way to give back your community. Find out how here: www.redcross.org.nz...

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
