Petone wharf etc
Sent a version of this to Council, no response apart from the usual "we have recieeved your email"
We could add the community centre reproof as another numpty idea.
Further to recent article re the demolition of the Petone beach wharf affecting the aquifer water underneath when the piles are removed. Easy solution, just cut each pile off at their seabed level !! The article says some piles are already affected by their rotting, so by just cutting them off will let nature take its course, as they rot the hole will fill naturally over time, I suggest many years. Obviously this will result in huge cost savings as opposed to uplifting the piles (and surrounding concrete?) while taking care not to disrupt the aquifer.
Along with cancelling this, and hopefully numpty idea of renaming Petone, will give more funding to far more important issues such as repairing the water supply leaks so we dont run short this and future summers.
