Beware of beatssmart.com

Roger from Havelock North

This online retailer has a nasty wee trap for the unsuspecting shopper. My wife purchased a dress through beatsmart.com in January and then they put an additional USD$50 charge on our credit card at the end of Jan and every month since. Now I'll freely admit that I should check our credit card statements every month but clearly I haven't been but i will form now on. Anyway, it seems that purcasing one item through these ratbags, enrolls you in a club (somewhere in their terms and conditions) which entitles beatssmart.com to charge your card unless you cancel. Interestingly beatssmart never communicate with you or promote products to you as a "club member", they just take your money... and when challenged, they refuse to refund on the grounds that you have agreed to their BS scheme.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
