Have you been to any home auctions lately?

The Team Reporter from Hamilton Press

An entry-level home in Hamilton’s popular Christmas suburb has sold for almost $100,000 over its reserve.

With the reserve set for $800,000, Lodge listing agent Blair Pointon said the owner was “blown away” when the three-bedroom house in Harrowfield went for $890,000 at auction this week.

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Three failed eye operations in one week left Surindur Ralm effectively blind for months, unable to drive, work, write or cook.

Loud explosion noise at 3:45am in Hamilton

Ian from Hamilton East

Anyone else hear a very loud bang or explosion at 3:45am? Seemed to echo around the whole area - much bigger than a car backfiring etc. Heard sirens out on Cobham Drive about 15 mins later. Hope everyone is ok.

EarthDiverse invites you to attend Hamilton’s first ever ethnic folktales puppet show brought to you by Ifat Vayner and the Hands on Heritage project, to be held on Sunday 12 November 2023 at 2:00pm at the Gallagher Performing Arts Centre at Waikato University.

This free event is the culmination of a year long project to capture ethnic heritage knowledge in such a way that the particular community has the resources and techniques to pass along the knowledge to the next generation, as well as the ability to share their cultural knowledge with the wider community.

This project, directed by professional puppeteer Ifat Vayner, is part of the Whiria Te Tangata programme, and is supported by Creative Waikato, EarthDiverse and The Ministry of Culture and Heritage. Please come along and celebrate the stories and artistic achievements of Hamilton’s cultural communities.

The event is free, family friendly, and fun (and there’s food!) and all are invited to attend. Please feel free to pass this information on to others in your networks. To reserve tickets: please go on line at Humanitix (click Read More link below) to book free tickets – seats are limited, so don’t miss out!
