Imagine you're a tourist to the city, or perhaps you have family members paying a visit who want to check out the Hamilton Gardens. Would you expect them to pay $25 to enter? Clams create a construction water challenge
Pest clams have created a challenge for NZTA as it prepares to extend the Waikato Expressway to Piarere.
The project will need water and Lake Karāpiro’s a nearby source - but it’s also infiltrated by gold clams, first found in the Waikato River in May 2023.
