Claim Time Is Too Late To Find Out You're Not Covered

John Heritage from John Heritage & Associates

Most of us don't bother to read the small print of our insurance policies and, sadly, only find out at claim time that we don't have the cover we thought we had. Call me sad if you like, but that's what I do for a living and it is surprising what turns up. Only the other day I checked over a policy someone's bank had sold her to cover her mortgage if she was unable to work for more than 4 weeks. She had no idea that any benefit received would be taxable, that she would only be paid for a maximum of 3 years and that if she was getting ACC she wouldn't get paid at all. "I'm only 32," she said, "How are we going to pay the bills if I can never work again - it'll be 30 years before the pension kicks in?" How indeed - and as her partner earns more than $2,500pm she's unlikely to get anything from WINZ so they would be in real trouble.
To avoid any nasty surprises at claim time why not let me carry out a WOF on your policy (see attachment for more details) and tell you how it stacks up? Normally valued at $200, for a limited time there is no charge to members of Neighbourly, and no obligation to take things any further - so you've really got nothing to lose.
To claim your free, no obligation policy WOF, call me (John) on 855 9041 or 021 184 3499.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

Do you have a most-hated intersection in Waikato?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

New data has pinpointed Hamilton’s most dangerous intersections, including a high risk Cobham Drive turn off that a resident and driving experts believe should be shut for good.

While that turn into Grey St has resulted in the highest number of injuries, most crashes occurred at the bustling intersection of Te Rapa Straight and Wairere Drive.

Do you have a most-hated intersection in Waikato? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
