Uni students have taken over this historic Dunedin building, but back in the day it was a place they would have avoided like the plague. With good reason.
This is the former Pelichet Bay Infectious Disease Hospital, once hidden from view behind large trees.
It's a huge building, currently in four flats, with a total of 14 bedrooms. And it looks much like any scarfie house, with its old couches on the veranda and drum kits in the bedroom. But this house has an Historic Place Category 1 listing, because it's pretty special.
