Of Tawa. Passed away peacefully during the evening of 18 April 2023, after a 15 month battle with cancer. Sadly on April 17, 2023, Shane left this world far too soon. Much loved and missed step-son of Sarah Randle and her partner Andy Ellis, step-brother to Imogen. Cherished brother to Chris and Chantelle, brother-in-law to Chase. Loved uncle to Ryder, Remi and Rivakah. Step-grandson to the late Mr Rex and Mrs Randle.

Peacefully at Wellington Hospital on Thursday 20 April 2023, aged 92. Dearly loved husband of Hilary, loving father of Mandy and Bill, Tania, and Sonja. Beloved poppa of Jacob, Tracy, Paul and Jorge. A funeral service to celebrate George’s life will be held in the Ninness Funeral Home Chapel, 17 Kenepuru Drive, Porirua, on Wednesday 26 April commencing at 11.00am. KNEEBONE, Gregory Thomas (Greg)

Passed away peacefully on 21 April 2023 at Rossendale Care Home, Hamilton, aged 71 years, with his sister Liz at his side. Very dearly loved eldest son of Jean and the late Clarrie, and treasured and highly respected and admired brother of Mary and the late John Holt; John and Judy (Melbourne); Liz; Brian and Lauren; Ross and Vicki (Whangarei); Ken and Pearl; Peter; David and Melanie; and Julie. Very special uncle and great-uncle. Grateful thanks to Rossendale staff and Monsignor Frank Eggleton for their loving care of Greg.

PEPLER, Colin Arthur

Very peacefully on 21 April 2023 at Aparangi Care Centre, Te Kauwhata, with family at his side, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of June for 62 years. Treasured dad of Bill and Joanne, Sally and Justin, Jon and Rhonda, Michael and Samantha, and Annabel and Lance. Adored grandad and great-grandad to his many grand and great-grandchildren in both New Zealand and Australia. Thanks to the wonderful Staff of Aparangi and the Te Kauwhata Health Centre for their exceptional care of Colin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Colin’s memory for the Parkinson’s NZ Charitable Trust would be appreciated and can be made online or may be left at the Service. Died peacefully, aged 90 years, at Karina Rest Home on 20 April 2023. Loving husband of Ruth Funke, father of Carol, Leona, Mark and Rachel. Father-in-law to Robert, Richard, Carolyn and Wayne. Opa to Caleb, Sarah, Ben, Tyla, Nathan, Olly, Hayley and Nathan. As great-Opa to Levi, Zoe, Louie, Judah and Amos. A service will be held at the Terracehaven Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Wednesday, 26 April 2023 at 10.00am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. We wish to acknowledge Karina Lifecare staff for the loving care to Frits, Hospice nursing staff, and Dr Skinner for her compassionate care. Frits’s heart was always for his family and friends, and those who did not know Jesus. He is now at peace with his Lord and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Born in Wellington on 12th August 1934. Died at Cashmere Home, Johnsonville on 19th April 2023. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Richard and Dinah of Greytown and David and Sally of Melbourne. Loved aunt of Nicola and Chris, Belinda and Phil, Jane and Ross, the late James, Charlotte, and Ted. Respected great-aunt of her great-nieces and nephews. Elisabeth had a strong affiliation with both Wellington and Nelson. Her family appreciates the loving care she and her family received from all the staff at Cashmere Home. Dearly loved member of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand in the 73rd year of her religious profession, aged 93 years. Dearly loved youngest daughter of the late Leonard and Ellie Goggin, loved sister and sister-in-law of Mona, Alma and Don Peters, Harold, and Joan (all deceased).
