Covid shots - things to know (having had both)

Andrew from Orakei

I've had both shots now, so here's a few tips

1. The injection is painless- both times, the pressure of the nurse's fingers on my arm to setup the site was harder than the needle going in
2. After effects- I felt fine in the days after the first shot. 2nd shot, day after I was a bit sleepy and needed an extra coffee, but I'd done a marathon the previous weekend..
3. Take something to read , drink and eat - you have to wait for 20 minutes after the injection

Poll: Would you rather: Christmas in summer forever or winter forever?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Just a bit of a fun poll to get you thinking.

If you had to live out your Christmas days, would you prefer it was a summer Christmas or a winter Christmas?

What word sums up 2024, neighbours?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

If 2020 was the year of lockdowns, banana bread, and WFH (work from home)....

In one word, how would you define 2024?

We're excited to see what you come up with!

Advice on hedgehog please

Justine from Saint Johns

Hi neighbours
We seem to have a hedgehog walking around our lawn for the last few days during the day. We thought it was just a one off when we first saw him/her and put some bread out soaked in milk ( have since learned that this isn’t good ) but he’s been seen a few other times since. When we tried to pick him up I noticed his eye was closed or crusty almost and he had a patch where the spikes were missing ( is this mange ?)

We don’t know what to do to get it help. Does anyone know if there’s a rescue type place that can help?
