I hope you are all feeling safe and dry as this storm travels over us. Good chance to do some drawing. π
Just thought I would take a minute to let you all know that my art classes are beginning again for this term.
Students can start any time throughout the term. For ages 9 through to adults.
We are focusing on drawing and painting still-life this term, so a good challenge ahead.
I generally do a mix of tutor and student initiated learning throughout the year.
Our basic schedule for this year will be Term 1 - Still-life
Term 2 - Landscape
Term 3 - The face - human or animal
Term 4 - People in their environment
Check out our website www.vizart.co.nz... for details on course fees and times and look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers

We encourage our TΔmaki Makaurau whΔnau to use this time to get prepared.
With potential for heavy rain and strong winds, surface flooding and slips are possible and strong wind gusts could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures.
How to get prepared:
1. Stay up to date with the latest weather warnings from MetService: www.metservice.com...
2. Make a household plan that includes your pets, in case you need to evacuate.
3. Have a grab bag with essential items ready to go.
4. Be prepared for possible power outages and check emergency supplies. In a storm you could be stuck at home for up to three days.
5. Clear debris and leaves from drains and gutters to help prevent surface flooding.
6. Secure items like wheelie bins, trampolines, outdoor furniture, boats and trailers. Bring items inside or tie items down that could move in strong winds.
7. Check on your friends, whΔnau, neighbours and anyone who might need your help, especially those who have already been affected by recent flooding.
Follow Auckland Emergency Management on Facebook or Twitter or visit their website by clicking on 'Read More' to stay updated as this weather system progresses and receive further advice.

So weβve created Flooded with Love - a space to recognise our people: those who helped with the clean up, rescued a pet (or a neighbour), pushed cars out of water, directed traffic, loaned out equipment, shared shelter, or simply stopped for a supportive chat or a cup of tea.
Help us tell these stories and recognise the goodness that exists in our communities.
