Hello Fresh box

Megan from Ponsonby

Hello Fresh give discounts to existing customers if they share a free box to a "new customer".

If you have never tried Hello Fresh before, please message me for a free box. I'll need your email address, then you'll get an invite from them.

Hello Fresh works on a cellphone app. It may also work on a desktop/laptop (never tried).

Note the shipping is NOT free and is $9.99. I think you may also get discounts on future boxes.

Also if you want a box greater than $135 (I think) or extras like lunches or desserts, these are NOT free.

Hello Fresh works out pretty cheap if you keep getting the discounts. I just skip any weeks when I don't have discounts!

Tip: To cancel, call them (you can't do it in the app). Also if you cancel, then a year later you'll be considered a new customer and can call them and ask for discounts (esp if you mention Bargain Box!).

Hello Fresh definitely use alot of savvy marketing techniques, but if you are equally savvy, you can turn the tables and keep your grocery bill low!

Smoke in Mt Wellington

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Smoke has been seen coming from the crater of the Auckland maunga Mt Wellington.

Images of the smoke began appearing on social media on Friday afternoon.

Around 1.45pm, Fire and Emergency (Fenz) shift manager Josh Pennefather told the NZ Herald a crew was fighting a fire of about 60 square metres in size.
”It’s spreading up hill … [but] there’s no property at risk at this stage,” Pennefather said.

Six fire trucks were in attendance working to contain a grass fire that's spreading up the maunga.

A helicopter was on its way to assist firefighting efforts, he added.

At 2pm, Pennefather shared that the fire was contained and they were working to extinguish it, including “keeping an eye on a whole bunch of hot spots“.
