New wheelchair swing for Waipu Northland
Children with Disability NZ is proud to have supported and partially funded a new wheelchair swing for Waipu Northland. You can find it at Waihoihoi River Park, 70 The Centre Waipu. It's just a 25-minute drive from either Mangawhai or Whangarei The swing is in operation. This requires no key; just take your child or adult and enjoy the swing. I have seen the smiles on disabled children's faces, and I am over the moon that we accomplished this fundraiser.
Already underway is another round of fundraising for a wheelchair-accessible sea-saw for Whangarei.
Children with Disability New Zealand aims to educate and improve understanding of the needs of disabled children and adults. We have a comprehensive, high-quality website with lots of useful information. Here is a link to the Swing based in Waipu, but while you're there, have a look around our FAQs, which may help give answers to common problems in loving and caring for your disabled family members: www.childrenwithdisability.co.nz...

What's your favourite tomato recipe?
Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.
