My groups

Glen from Central Whangarei

Disability Advisory Group receives comments from the community and advises council about issues faced by disabled people, we write to council / government to gain change, we get footpaths widened gates removed etc mobility scooter and wheelchair friendly places established.

Disabled Employment is an information website giving easy access to the correct information, we also have a work wanted page and would encourage people to contact us via facebook to get listed, I am a disabled website designer and SEO expert, surprisingly disabled employment has proved hard to optimise for search results.

So abilities not disabilities was launched, this will also focus on employment or overwise sharing the things disabled people do. The plan to promote their abilities in a very positive way.

My name Glen McMillan I am disabled and work from a home office designing websites, partly because of my disability I struggle to get work.

Practice makes perfect so while I have not enough paid work I create my own network of websites, I am an expert with 30 years experience, I have had windpipe operations my voice is affected makes getting work over the phone difficult. it's all about being seen and getting known I need work as well.

My business is Website Design Whangarei

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
