Upgrade for pull-over area at Tamaterau - March / April 2022.
Anyone headed towards Whangārei from Whangārei Heads will be able to pull over easily on asphalted surface and find an improved one-way area with a marked bus stop and parking, more space for the central Pohutukawa, and access to Tamaterau Domain.
Expect some traffic management in the coming months to allow for the development. Once complete, the speed limit here will return to being 50 km/h.
This $304,0000 project is supported by the Tourism Infrastructure Fund. The design was completed by Hawthorn Geddes engineers & architects ltd and the construction will be completed by Robinson Asphalts.
