Safety in our CBD
On Monday 12-08-19 as part of the WDC disability advisory group we had our monthly meeting, we are making some good progress, one concerning thing that came up was disabled people not feeling safe in the Whangarei CBD because of the amount of youth hanging about and intimidating behaver, also claims youth were drinking alcohol in the CBD. How does the community feel?
During our discussion it was said the youths hang around the CBD because there is not enough to do also, some committee member asked if the free WIFI could be turned off as co-chair I suggested that we should not punish the many for the actions of the few. Disabled people like free WIFI, because in some cases apps to help the disabled can be accessed via free Wi-Fi
