The importance of maintaining a home's main electrical earth

Maria from Tahi Electrical Ltd

Let’s face it we all love a cute puppy, but they tend to chew things.
This main earth was chewed right through and had been taped back together. Why is this green wire so important? Earthing is used to protect you from an electric shock. It does this by providing a path for a fault current to flow to earth instead of through your body. It also causes the protective device (circuit-breaker, fuse or RCD) to switch off the electric current to the circuit that has the fault.
Safety and compliance checks is something Tahi can help you with.
