Musical Director Hibiscus Coast Singers
Hibiscus Coast Singers is a community choir looking for a new musical director. We are a choir of fifty dedicated and enthusiastic singers who live in the Hibiscus Coast area.
Our choir performs a wide range of choral music and has performed works specifically commissioned by well-known New Zealand composers. We also engage professional singers and accompanists for some of our performances.
Our choir performs 2 concerts per year with weekly rehearsals commencing 3 months prior to performances.
Our current musical director is retiring at the end of this year and many years of service. We are looking for a musical director who will continue to inspire and develop our collective musicianship and expand our musical horizons.
We are looking for a musical director with the following attributes:
• A skilled and committed conductor with a sound knowledge of choral singing skills within a wide repertoire of choral music.
• Sound leadership and the ability to work constructively with a wide range of singing and musical abilities.
• Ability to engender fun and enjoyment whilst at the same providing a challenging and innovative environment for our singers.
Remuneration will be negotiated at the time of the appointment.
Our choir is supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated committee. We engage the services of a skilled rehearsal accompanist.
