MPI issues salmon recall
A popular brand of smoked salmon has been recalled by supermarkets across the country due the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
Here's what you need to know:
- The brand is 'Prime Smoke brand Smoked Salmon Shavings (100g)', with 13012608F being the only batch number affected.
- The product is available to purchase from the following supermarkets:

New World Waihi
Bay of Plenty:
New World Te Puke
New World Westend
New World Whakatane
Pak’nSave Papamoa
Taranaki:
New World Waitara
Wellington:
New World Silverstream
New World Whitby
Pak’nSave Kapiti
According to the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), there have been no reports of illness. If customers are concerned about their health, they should seek medical advice.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
