► Concerns about water filter marketing
It has come to our attention that a water filter marketing company currently operating in the Whakatāne District may be targeting residents with unsubstantiated claims about drinking water quality.
If you are contacted, please be wary of any claims made about unsafe water and share your concerns with others.
It’s worth noting that on 19 October 2018, the company involved was fined $440,000 after pleading guilty to making unsubstantiated claims about the benefits of water filters and for making misleading claims about the quality of New Zealand drinking water supplies.

Bev and John’s summer motorhome adventures
Bev and John are no strangers to adventure. Whether it’s overseas escapades to the Great Wall of China, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, or exploring New Zealand’s stunning landscapes, this intrepid couple has seen their fair share of the world. But these days, they prefer to keep their travel plans closer to home - with their beloved Cavoodle, Skye, always in tow.

Travel to Wellington
Hi there , I’m wondering if anyone is driving to Wellington from Whakatane on Monday 17th Feb, and is interested in a paying passenger as company for the trip. I’m a mature and engaging male picking up my motorcycle to ride back to Whakatane a couple of days later . Many thanks ..Jeff G
