Conservation Week has arrived, which means it's time to show your backyard some love.
There are lots of ways you can get involved. You could set up a backyard trap, participate in a community conservation event, plant a native tree or clean up a local beach.

We recently had a case of an animal being so frightened they got tangled in fencing causing pain and anguish, and resulted in expensive vet bills. The fireworks were in an area of many small blocks with animals such as horses, cows, goats etc. These animals panic with the large noises and fire smells and run off in fear getting on to roads or getting tangled in fences thus causing serious harm to themselves and others. Last year there were a number of horses that had to to be put down as their injuries were so severe that there was nothing the vet could do to save their lives. A time of consideration to others is recommended.
