⚠️WATER OUTAGE - KELBURN⚠️
⚠️WATER OUTAGE - KELBURN UPDATE⚠️
Our team has now fully opened the valve and service should be fully restored to all customers.
However, we are still flushing the hydrants to remove air from the pipes and ensure that the water is clean. There may be discolouration or have air bubbles so please run your outside taps for a short time until this clears.
Thank you for your patience.
A water outage impacted Kelburn for a short period this afternoon. Water supply is returning as normal, however there may be a few air bubbles. We advise residents to run their outside taps for a short time, and avoid using appliances such as dishwashers where possible until fully restored.
To help the reservoir recover, we also ask residents in the impacted area (see below map) to reduce consumption where possible for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
