Would you like to be paid to host an international student?
Hi Neighbours, we need your help!
Here at AFS Intercultural Programmes, we are looking for some friendly families to host a few of our international students coming to Wellington for three weeks in July/August.
These high-school-aged students are coming from all around the world to Wellington to take part in our Global Prep Programme: Sustainability and the Environment. Hosting one of these students would give you the unique opportunity to experience a whole new culture from the comfort of your own home! Plus, we’ll pay you $300 per week to host them.
We're looking for families who can host students from the 14th of July to the 4th of August as this is when the programme takes place. If you are interested in hosting or would like to learn more, please get in touch with us by email, joanna.holm@afs.org , or calling us on 0800 600 300.
We look forward to hearing from you!

What's your favourite recipe for courgettes?
Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
