Knights Road new pipeline

The Team from Wellington Water

Wellington Water is working to ensure Lower Hutt continues to receive safe water this summer. This work includes putting in a new pipeline from Knights Road to the Hutt River, and upgrading well pumps. To complete the work as soon as possible, we’re working at several places along the route simultaneously.

This week we’ll be upgrading the pumps and well chamber at the top of Willoughby Street. To carry this out as quickly and as safely as possible, we’re closing that section of road until early November. Detours will be in place via Cudby Street and Riddiford Street. See attached map for further information. We’ll also continue trenching along Knights Road
throughout October. Please observe speed restrictions and take extra care if driving in the area where work is taking place.

For more information, contact Wellington Water on (04) 912 4400 or visit wellingtonwater.co.nz
for regular project updates.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.

How to block interference from an irrelevant poster?

Ruth from Aro Valley

Can anyone give advice on how to do this? I have already reported the interference to the neighbourly team.
