Carterton's Daffodil Festival is on next Sunday (10th)
Carterton is gearing up for another huge weekend with the return of the iconic Daffodil Festival on Sunday 10 September, and the Big Wai Art show on 8-10 September (this weekend!).
This spring festival is one of New Zealand’s longest running events and often sees more than 10,000 visitors come to town. Come and enjoy daffodil picking at historic Middlerun farm, a steam train excursions, the High Street market, and street performances. And the Wai Art exhibition too packed with a hue range of creativity .

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
