CYCLE SPEED BUMPS - WTF?

Neil from Thorndon

Speed bumps have been installed at the intersection of Hill Street and Tinakori Rd but get this - they're in the cycle lane!
Looking left to check for traffic coming up Tinakori Rd today l was jolted into the air by these ridiculous speed bumps in the cycle lane. Of all the dumb ideas by the current City Council this has to be the most stupid!
The Thorndon Quay debacle is the current winner for dumb WCC spending but these speed bumps for cycles come close.

Poll: Would you commute by public transport if it was free?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Using your car is convenient, except for finding parking.

Cycling lets you leave anytime, but you might arrive soaked.

So, neighbours, if public transport had the perk of being free, would it be your main way to commute?

Estranged mothers of adult children - Wellington only

Laurice from Northland

Expressions of interest are invited for setting up a support group for mothers who have lost a child or children to estrangement. This is not intended as therapy, but as a chance to share experiences, resources, solutions, or general support with others in the same situation. Please reply by direct message, for confidentiality, and we will set up a meeting before the end of October in a safe, neutral environment to meet and discuss possibilities.

Disclaimer: This group is proposed by individuals seeking others similarly placed and is not associated with any organisations, mental health-related or otherwise.

Poll: Does grocery bagging affect where you shop?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

There's only a few differences between our larger chain supermarkets here in New Zealand. Having someone bag your groceries is one of them.

Does having your groceries packed for you at the checkout influence where you do your grocery shop? If so, tell us why.
