Malaghan Month
It's not just cancer that they are fighting!
Multiple sclerosis is a disease affecting over 3,500 New Zealanders, resulting in loss of movement, feeling, vision and cognition. There are around 14 different drugs treating one form of the disease but only one treatment for progressive forms of the disease. This single treatment only treats a subset of the individuals with the progressive form.
The brave team at the Malaghan Institute are working on developing a new-immune based therapy to treat these victims that have no treatment plan. Read more about their research and get behind them this #MalaghanMonth!
