Tawa Probus meeting reminder
This Monday 20th June, we meet as normal at the Tawa Bowling Club, Davies Street, 9.30am.
Our speaker this month is Nick Leggett. Nick entered politics at age 19 as a Porirua City Councillor in 1998, and later was Mayor of Porirua before unsuccessfully contesting the Wellington Mayoralty in 2016.
Nick is presently Chief Executive of Ia Ara Aotearoa - Transporting New Zealand (previously known as the Road Transport Forum NZ). In that role Nick seeks to be the voice of the NZ transport industry. We have all heard how the COVID lockdowns have affected the transport industry and supply chains. Nick will be able to give an update on this situation and recovery prospects.
Visitors and prospective new members welcome.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?

What's your favourite tomato recipe?
Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.
