Guide Biscuits coming to Countdown

Cheryl Watson from GirlGuiding NZ - Tawa & Linden

Yes! It's true! Original (plain) Guide biscuits will be available for a limited time in Countdown (and SuperValue or Fresh Choice) stores during October!
$1 from each packet sold will be donated to GirlGuiding NZ.

While Guide biscuits had been a huge part of GirlGuiding NZ’s culture for more than 60 years, it was decided to stop selling biscuits through the membership so they could focus on the core purpose and activities. That decision has freed up hours of very valuable volunteer time, which has enabled Girl Guiding to provide more opportunities to girls and young women.
It is very exciting that Griffin’s and Countdown have been able to bring back Guide biscuits in a way that maximises benefit for Girl Guiding members.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Teen Anxiety and Wellbeing School Holiday Program

Carolyn from Titahi Bay

Does your teenager suffer from anxiety?
Are they Year 9-13?
Are they willing to accept counselling support in a unique, experiential setting with horses?
Will they be happy working in a group setting with 3 other people plus two facilitators and horses? No horse riding is involved, all activities are ground-based.

If the answers are YES then read on.

We are offering a 2 day program in the school holidays, fully funded by Gumboot Friday, to help teenagers with strategies for coping with anxiety. We also use strength-based activities to build up confidence, self-esteem and well-being.

Gumboot Friday funding criteria:
* the young person must be on a waiting list for mental health support OR they don't meet criteria for other funding.
