Opening of newly-fenced dog exercise area on Saturday 15 July
If you're a dog owner, you're welcome to join us at the ‘opening’ of the newly-fenced dog exercise area at Taylor Park in Tawa.
Northern Ward councillors Malcolm Sparrow, Jill Day and Peter Gilberd are organising a low-key opening at 1pm on Saturday 15 July. Bring along your canine companion to enjoy some K9 treats and a run around the dog park.
Council fenced the dog exercise area at Ian Galloway Park in Wilton last year. This year’s project, Taylor Park, has just about been completed. Next year will be the turn of a dog park in the southern suburbs.
Drive through the car park for Redwood Station (south) and park outside the badminton hall which is alongside Taylor Park. See you there!

What's your favourite tomato recipe?
Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
