June 2021 Seatoun School gets ready to celebrate its 100th anniversary
Yolande Creswell has a unique memory of starting at Seatoun School.
Yolande recalls being bitterly disappointed she had to delay her start date at Seatoun School by two years because of the Polio Pandemic in the late 1930s.
“As a little girl, I was so looking forward to starting school and I can remember feeling quite sad I had to wait. I was seven before I finally started school. Before that we would tune into the radio to listen to our lessons. It’s funny how the school started its centenary with a pandemic and here we are now ending it with another one”.
She will be one of the oldest attendees when Seatoun celebrates its anniversary in September.
