Red Rock baches nominated for heritage list
Baches near Red Rocks are included on a list of buildings nominated for heritage protection.
Wellington City Council is considering giving a wide variety of Wellington buildings heritage protection under its district plan.
The list, obtained by Stuff, includes 58 individual buildings, 10 heritage areas, and four heritage objects - as well as expanding some existing heritage areas.
As well as the Red Rocks baches, the list includes the Wellington Library.
A former gas tank – more-recently part of a garden centre – on Park Rd, Miramar is on the list, as is the Bolton St foot bridge over the motorway
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
