Unfortunately not every-one is going to be able to afford them. So did you know that there is a rates rebate that you can apply for? A lot of people think you have to be over 65 years old before you can apply but if your income tax is $25,180 or less and live in your own home you may be able to claim the full amount of $630. Exactly how much you get will depend on what your rates bill is, how many children or dependents you have and your income. The rebate is income tested so even if you earn more than this you may qualify for some assistance. If you want to know more pop into your local bureau and talk with the volunteers, we can also tell you about rates remission for first home builders and rates postponement if you are experiencing extreme financial hardship.

I have … View moreI broke my knee cap two weeks ago and my poor Zeus is not impressed and shows little sympathy. He sits in my room with his head on my bed and looks at me with a pathetic look on his face. He wills me to rise from my incarcerated state and take him to one of his favorite walking spots. I have explained to him I'll be in bed for the next three weeks with a brace on my leg but he refuses to accept my predicament and continues with his fruitless pleas.
Would someone like to take him out? He is very well behaved, loves other dogs (and cats) a peace keeper and is easily bribed with treats.
He actually thinks he's a human even though I told him he has no opposable thumbs.
Anyway if there are any dog lovers out there that need a fix of doggie companionship please let me know.
