The start of a new journey!

Jane Fisher from Newtown Toastmasters

Our trip "around the world" on Wednesday certainly took us places - from communication styles and the issue of debt, to learning from Toastmasters and the question, "Who are we really?", which Athena ably answered with her Icebreaker speech.

Jeanette's "on-theme" Table Topics got us thinking about our travel preferences...some of us felt our next getaway coming on :)

Thanks to our visitors for coming along - we hope to see you again. If you've been thinking of joining us, Wednesday 24 July is the perfect opportunity - come on down to Newtown Community Centre from 7.30pm and start a new journey!

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
