Poll: Do you support increased parking rates in central Wellington

Matt Tso Reporter from Community News

Following consultation the council received 542 submissions and 161 social media comments on the wider parking policy, with 67 per cent in support of a demand-based pricing scheme.

The proposed parking policy would remove existing two-hour parking limits. The first two hours would be charged at a set rate and an increasing hourly rate would be applied to vehicles parked longer than this time to increase turnover and free up parking spaces.
