A long-running boating club with an unusual name is celebrating 150 years of getting North Cantabrians on the water.

The history of the club, including photos and trophies, will be showcased at the Kaiapoi Museum, in the Kaiapoi Library, from 10am to 2pm. Entry is free.
There will also be markets food stalls and a Kidzone within the grass reserve between Raven Quay and Hilton St from 10am to 4pm.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
