Inglorious Vegetable Soup Disco - Free event Saturday 1st April on Waiheke

Rowena from Waiheke Island

Love Food Hate Waste? Love Music and Dance?
Join our FREE event on Saturday 1st April to celebrate delicious & nutritious inglorious vegetables usually rejected by supermarkets and the general public. The world throws away hundreds of millions of tons of fruit & vegetables, mainly because of their appearance. Let’s share good food from our gardens regardless of their imperfections and reduce food waste!
Bring your three-legged carrots, undersized potatoes, warty pumpkins and holey greens from your gardens and community gardens along with the left-over veges from your fridges and join forces to chop and prepare veges that we’ll whip into a delicious soup for all to enjoy, while we laugh and dance to good music!

Featuring
4-5pm DJ TripleFFF (Dub, funk & classic rock)
5-6pm DJ Sinho (international collection)
6-8:30pm DJ Anirvan Deva (electronic dance, world & mantras)
8:30-11pm DJ Didge from the Deep House Brothers (Deep House)

LOCATION: The Old Blackpool School Hall, Nikau St, Blackpool, Waiheke, NZ
Food preparation 4-6pm (bring and prepare your veges in this window only as all must be ready to cook by 6pm),
Social catch up/dance 6-7:30 while chefs prepare soup,
Soup and bread shared meal at 7:30pm, Dance till 11pm!
Dj's playing continuously from 4pm - 11pm.

Do you think you know the answer to our daily riddle? Don't spoil it for your neighbours! Simply 'Like' this post and we'll post the answer in the comments below at 2pm.
