IS GRIFFIN'S OUR BEST CHOICE?
Griffin's, producers of a wide range of biscuits, celebrated its 160 years of production with a special birthday line of biscuit. It was wafer thin very much like a wine biscuit base, topped with a thin layer of chocolate inbedded with hundreds & thousands candy pebbles. Selling for $2.50 a 170g packet from a local supermarket, the special biscuits were more expensive than their standard array. This to me is par for the course of what constitutes Griffin's. They are on the 'mean' side and are outgunned by the Australian produced Arnott's whose range, price, packaging size and content are superior to Griffin's overall.
Griffin's started in Nelson and had a major presence in Lower Hutt.
