The UHCC refuse to take care of the weeds and I think a small group of residents/users should make a direct approach to council with a view to asking for an annual weed spraying programme.
Many dog owners/handlers and their dogs are using the park for recreation and the council will not install at least one litter dispenser and litter bin. I think this can also be broached to council for the placement of these items at the park. They exist in other parks and reserves in Upper Hutt including three litter dispensers at Trentham Memorial Park aside from multiple litter bins.
Last winter there were vehicles and motor bikes rampaging parts of the park when the park surface was wet and despoiling the ground. More barriers need to be constructed to stop this vandalism.
Grant's Bush Reserve is otherwise attractive and appreciated.

Alex Stewart came up with the idea for his business, WombatNET, when he was 13 and staying at the remote settlement of Turakina Beach, near Whanganui. Older people would often ask the tech-savvy teenager for help with their digital devices, and he soon realised how many people in the area were grappling with the same problem – unreliable and slow internet access.
After doing some research, he discovered that while it was relatively straightforward to connect properties to the fixed wireless broadband network using radio waves transmitted by towers, large internet providers often seemed reluctant to do so because it could be more expensive than using cables. So Stewart decided to meet the need himself.
In early 2020, WombatNET put up its first tower on private land just outside Upper Hutt. Since then, the company has built another 10 around Mangaroa and Whitemans Valley.
With demand for the service growing quickly through online and social media marketing and word of mouth, and as more people began to work from home amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Stewart was struggling to juggle running a start-up with his school work.

We are as local as you can get. We are not part of a chain, but a buying group. We sell Televisions, audio, whiteware and kitchen appliances.
We employ 18 locals and do all our business locally, supporting local Electricians, plumbers, servicemen, heatpump installers and local business. We also support local charities. We take your old appliances away and either recycle them or recondition them.
This has created 8 local jobs and filled a store in the main street. No other appliance store does this.
We also just won the consumers people's choice award for the 6th year running.😁
We love matching prices and deliver and install all around Wellington. Our delivery team is amazing.
If you haven't been in to meet us, please come in and say hi. We would love to have your business and can guarantee you will be impressed with what we have right here in Upper Hutt.
